The DEP’s Public Meeting #2 for the proposed Coney Island Creek CSO Long Term Control Plan is this week! Wednesday, April 20, 6 P.M. at the Wildlife Conservation Society’s New York Aquarium, Education Hall. 602 Surf Avenue, Coney Island.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to express your opinions and share your vision for the future of Coney Island Creek. Coney Island Creek receives 250 million gallons of combined sewer overflow from just one outfall each year! Public participation in this stage of the process is key to ensure that our voices are integrated into this important plan which will guide efforts to reduce Combined Sewer Overflow in the creek for many years to come.
S.W.I.M. Coalition, Coney Island Beautification Project and Partnerships for Parks will be providing free transportation for Coney Island Residents to and from the meeting for individuals who are unable to get there otherwise. We will have a caravan of cars parked at the corner of Mermaid Avenue and 32nd street on the 20th at 5:30 P.M. The cars will be identifiable by signs posted in the windows reading “Coney Island Creek Public Meeting.”
We hope to see you there!
